Description

A focus is placed on the use of high-power infrared lasers as well as green lasers, which offer significant advantages for copper due to its high absorption at shorter wavelengths. Experimental results demonstrate how the selection of suitable laser sources and process parameters can significantly increase productivity and improve part quality. Additionally, a preheating laser concept to process materials at elevated temperatures above 1000 °C is introduced. Which is planned to finally enable stable processing of crack-prone high-temperature materials like tungsten. The presentation offers practical insights into innovative system technologies, showcasing the potential for material range expansion and increased process stability in industrial PBF-LB applications.
