Description

Additive manufacturing, in particular the selective laser melting process, is ideally suited to the production of highly complex geometries. There is a clear trend towards increasing component size whilst maintaining high quality and, at the same time, minimising production time. As part of my work, I succeeded in achieving relative densities of over 99.5 % using a large-format system with an infrared laser source, whilst increasing the build rate by 50 %.
