Description

Additive manufacturing provides a fast, cost-effective, and flexible method for developing customized camera mounts that can be precisely adapted to their designated positions, both inside and outside of Linac cavities. Besides beam characterization, CMOS cameras at our institute are also applied to acquire multipacting and cavity glowing effects during conditioning. In this case, due to the radiation produced by a cavity in operation, the cameras need to be shielded for improving the image quality.
For this purpose, a shielding enclosure was fabricated using tungsten-filled filament (Prusament, PETG Tungsten 75 %). The shielding performance was evaluated by comparing images recorded with the shielded camera to those obtained with an unshielded camera under equivalent conditions.
